A Brief History of Carter Machinery
Carter Machinery originally known as the Virginia Tractor Company has a long history that dates back to its early Virginia founding in 1927. It wasn’t until 1952, however, that the Carter Machinery Company Inc was officially founded with the first Carter Machinery store opening in Bluefield, West Virginia. Taking advantage of the increasing infrastructure developments and coal mining in Virginia, the Carter Machinery brand continued to go from success to success with multiple acquisitions, distribution rights, store expansions and new facilities across the United States.
